I'm actually entering the realm of new material here. Still have some reports to the Impact to share but I wanted to talk about punctuation faces...what's the proper name for them? Emoticons?
You know, like this:-)... At least that's the way you guys seem to always do them over in the 'West'. But I've always been partial to the Japanese way of doing 'em, which doesn't require me to tilt my head to get new ones that I'm not familiar with. Took me forever to figure out that :-P was supposed to be someone sticking out their tongue. Maybe it's just me though.
Anyway my goal is to convert as many people as possible to the 'upright' way of doing it so please check 'em out and use 'em if they suit your fancy.
The most basic is the happy face. (^-^)
Add a v for the peace sign. (^-^)v (^^)v
Or a b for the thumbs up. (^-^)b
Or d and b for a double thumbs up. d(^-^)b d=(^o^)=b
Capital T's make for good tears. (ToT)
Slash and a couple tildes for a teary good bye. (ToT)/~~
Lose the T's for a happy good bye. (^^)/~~
Doh! Homer Simpson style. (>_<) (>_<")
Bummer... (. _.) (-_-#) ( -_-)
Blush (*^-^*)
Surprise! (@_@)
How bout a kiss? (^3^)=3 smack! (^3^)~♡♥
High five! ^-^)/\(^-^
And living in Japan I can't forget the bow, as it's so important in Japanese culture. I've heard it said that you know you've been here too long when you bow while talking on the phone. And yes, I HAVE been caught doing that! Always good for a laugh when I realize I'm doing it.
Now you can bow while emailing too! m(_ _)m
(The "m"s are the shoulders and arms. You are supposed to hold your arms straight down to your sides when bowing...)
Anyway, you get the idea by now and I'm sure you can come up with some cool new ones too. This is just to get you started. There are a bunch more that you can do with Japanese characters, but since my purpose is to get English speakers using these, I'll hold off on those. Well...maybe I'll show you one of my favorite animals...the 'bird'.

Nitwit ideas are for emergencies. You use them when you've got nothing
else to try. If they work, they go in the Book. Otherwise you follow
the Book, which is largely a collection of nitwit ideas that worked.

I looked everywhere for it!
You definitely have a gift for writing in a humorous style.
I enjoyed this page very much.
Especially your homage to ornithology!
